MultiStreamer Web is a browser-based app that lets you watch multiple Twitch streams simultaneously. Your privacy matters, and this policy explains what data the app accesses and how it is handled.
When you sign in with your Twitch account, the app receives and stores the following information locally in your browser:
This data is used solely to authenticate with the Twitch API so the app can load your followed streams, display live content, and connect to chat.
Authentication tokens, your Twitch profile information, and app preferences are stored locally in your browser using localStorage and sessionStorage. They are not persisted on our servers.
Two things are kept on our own servers, and only for a signed-in visitor:
Nothing else about your account or your viewing is stored by us.
Channel groups let you arrange the Live tab into sections of your own. A group is a name you choose and a list of Twitch channels you put in it.
While you are signed in, your groups are saved to our servers against your Twitch user ID so they follow you to your other devices. We store the group names, the channels in each one, whether each is shown, and the order you put them in. We do not store what you watch.
Groups made before you sign in stay in your browser and are not sent anywhere. Signing out removes them from this browser; the copy saved to your account remains until you delete it, which you can do from the Channel Groups screen or by emailing us at the address below.
The app communicates with Twitch's APIs (api.twitch.tv, id.twitch.tv, and Twitch's IRC chat servers) to authenticate your account, retrieve your followed channels, load stream data, and send and receive chat messages. Your use of Twitch is subject to Twitch's Privacy Policy.
Twitch's chat servers only deliver messages sent after you join a channel, so to show the recent conversation when a chat opens the app requests that channel's last messages from recent-messages.robotty.de, a third-party service that archives public Twitch chat. Only the channel name is sent; your identity, token, and messages are not.
Chat emotes and badges are loaded from BetterTTV, 7TV, and FrankerFaceZ. These requests contain only the channel identifier needed to fetch that channel's emotes.
MultiStreamer Web does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking frameworks.
For basic traffic monitoring, our backend records a minimal aggregate visitor count: when a signed-in account connects, we store its Twitch user ID together with the calendar date of the visit. This lets us display simple totals such as how many people are online now and how many unique visitors the site has had over time. We do not store what you watch, your chat activity, your IP address, or any browsing behavior, and this data is never used for advertising or shared with third parties. Visitors who are not signed in are not recorded.
The Windows desktop app is this same website packaged with Electron, so everything above applies to it. Two things are specific to it. It checks for updates by contacting multistreamer.tv, sending only the current app version and your operating system so the server can tell whether an update is available; no user-identifying information is sent with that check. On first launch it also downloads the BetterTTV browser extension from the Chrome Web Store and refreshes it periodically, so that chat gains BetterTTV's emotes; BetterTTV's own data practices are governed by BetterTTV's Privacy Policy.
Desktop notifications for followed streamers going live are generated entirely on your device, and no data is sent to any server for them.
Your data is never sold, shared with, or transferred to third parties, except as required to communicate with the Twitch API on your behalf and with the chat, emote, and badge services listed above.
You can remove all locally stored data at any time by signing out within the app or by clearing your browser's site data for this domain. Signing out also revokes the OAuth token with Twitch. The aggregate visitor record described above is not tied to your browser storage; you can request its deletion by emailing us at the address below.
MultiStreamer Web does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app requires a Twitch account, which has its own age requirements.
