MultiStreamer is an app for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV that lets you watch multiple Twitch streams simultaneously. Your privacy matters, and this policy explains what data the app accesses and how it is handled. It covers all four Apple platforms; the features that differ between them are called out under Platform Differences below.
When you sign in with your Twitch account, the app receives and stores the following information locally on your device:
This data is used solely to authenticate with the Twitch API so the app can load your followed streams, display live content, and connect to chat.
Authentication tokens, your Twitch profile information, and app preferences are stored locally on your device using the system's UserDefaults storage. They are not persisted on our servers.
What we keep on our own servers, and only for a signed-in user, is:
Nothing else about your account or your viewing is stored by us.
The app communicates with Twitch's APIs (api.twitch.tv and id.twitch.tv) to authenticate your account, retrieve your followed channels, and load stream data. The app also connects to Twitch's IRC chat servers when you view a stream so chat can be displayed. Your use of Twitch is subject to Twitch's Privacy Policy.
Chat emotes and badges are loaded from BetterTTV, 7TV, and FrankerFaceZ. These requests contain only the channel identifier needed to fetch that channel's emotes, and no authentication credentials are sent to these services.
Channel groups let you arrange the Live tab into sections of your own. A group is a name you choose and a list of Twitch channels you put in it.
Groups are stored on your device. Where the app syncs them so they follow you between your devices, they are saved to our servers against your Twitch user ID: the group names, the channels in each one, whether each is shown, and the order you put them in. We do not store what you watch.
You can export your groups to a file, or delete them, from the Channel Groups screen. Deleting them there removes the copy on our servers too.
Live Alerts are off unless you turn them on, and they cover only the channels you pick. If you never turn them on, nothing in this section applies to you and nothing described here is collected.
Turning them on stores, against your Twitch user ID: the channels you selected, whether newly followed channels should be included automatically, and the list of channels you follow. That last one is what lets a channel you follow later be added to your selection; it is not used for anything else.
Each device you enable alerts on also registers a push token issued by Apple, along with the app version, OS version and language, so the notification can be delivered and written in your language. A push token identifies a single installation of the app on a single device. It is used only to send the alerts you asked for, and is never shared with anyone or used for advertising.
Turning Live Alerts off, or signing out, removes that device. Deleting the app removes it as well, once Apple tells us the token is no longer valid. Your channel selection is kept so that turning alerts back on does not mean picking everything again; you can clear it from the Live Alerts screen or by emailing us.
MultiStreamer offers an optional Pro in-app purchase that unlocks additional features, such as a higher simultaneous stream count. All purchase processing is handled by Apple via StoreKit. MultiStreamer does not receive your payment details or any personal information from the transaction. Apple provides only a verified receipt confirming that you own the purchase.
MultiStreamer does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or cross-app tracking frameworks, and does not access the Advertising Identifier (IDFA).
For basic usage monitoring, our backend records a minimal aggregate count: when a signed-in account connects, we store its Twitch user ID together with the calendar date and which platform the app was running on. This lets us display simple totals such as how many people are using MultiStreamer now and how many unique users there have been over time. We do not store what you watch, your chat activity, your IP address, or any browsing behavior, and this data is never used for advertising or shared with third parties. Anyone who is not signed in is not recorded.
The app can continue playing stream audio when it is in the background or your device is locked. This uses the standard iOS background audio capability and does not collect or transmit any additional data. Background audio is one of the features included with Pro.
MultiStreamer includes a tvOS Top Shelf extension to surface your followed channels on the Apple TV home screen. The extension reads the same locally stored Twitch credentials as the main app through a shared App Group container (group.com.lucidic.multistreamer); no additional data is collected or transmitted.
Where the app supports sending chat, your Twitch username and OAuth token are used to authenticate with Twitch's IRC servers. Messages are sent directly to Twitch and are never routed through the MultiStreamer backend.
Your data is never sold, shared with, or transferred to third parties, except as required to communicate with the Twitch API on your behalf and with the emote and badge services listed above.
You can remove all stored data at any time by signing out within the app or by deleting the app from your device. This immediately removes all locally stored credentials and account information.
The aggregate usage record described above is not stored on your device. You can request its deletion by emailing us at the address below.
MultiStreamer does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app requires a Twitch account, which has its own age requirements.
